Responsibilities 

The SRE/DevOps Engineer is part of the team tasked with systems administration and operations tasks in a cloud-based infrastructure. This position’s primary objective is to provide on-going scalability, operational support, and consultation as a subject matter expert for MongoDB operational data store as well as future reporting databases.  The Senior Engineer provides hands-on experience and technical expertise to the team to overcome issues and build the best products possible while also reducing costs and improving efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3+ yrs. MongoDB management/tuning experience and fluency in MDB query language.
  • 3+ yrs. as a MongoDB subject matter expert working with software development teams to improve indexing and collection/document design
  • 4 yrs. Experience as a Senior DevOps/SRE/Systems Engineer in a DevOps role specifically supporting structured or NoSQL databases
  • General experience within an SRE/DevOps team focused on improving efficiency, adding automation and creating/supporting Continuous Integration (CI), Testing (CT) and Deployment (CD) pipeline and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise with multi-cloud and sharded MongoDB deployments
  • Demonstrable experience with:
    • Implementing a DevOps practice and toolset
    • CI/CD tools (Git, Maven, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
    • Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) for CI/CD and documentation
    • Creation and management of Cloud Infrastructure in AWS, but also Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
    • Container environments using Kubernetes and/or Docker in production
    • Serverless framework
    • Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform (or similar)
    • git (Knowing the GitFlow branching method is a plus)
    • Load testing frameworks like Gatling or Locust
    • Implementing best practices for Security, Architecture, and Cost optimization.
