**THIS IS AN ON SITE POSITION (Kansas City, MO)**

 

Summary

Manage a team of analysts to develop data driven and outcome-based initiatives to improve business decision making and operational efficiencies. Liaise with business leaders to help identify and prioritize business problems and develop analytics initiatives to support strategic action along these lines of effort. Gathers, synthesizes, interprets, and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources to report on and present information to stakeholders in support of informed business decision-making. This position will travel up to 10% of the time. Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate internal and external stakeholder schedules.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage a team of multi-disciplinary analysts and QlikView designers who facilitate business intelligence processes, report development, and various implementations in support of ongoing analytics activities
  • Deliver expertise around: data visualization, database modeling, structuring complex datasets, contract analysis, advanced data analysis, master data management
  • Translate business inquiries into data analysis approaches to produce relevant metrics, reports, and other decision-making tools such as dashboards
  • Control, integrate, and develop data sources from multiple systems and sources internal and external
  • Analyze data, interpret patterns and trends, identify data integrity issues, and draw valid conclusions
  • Present insights and recommendations to management for decision making and strategic planning
  • Build, develop, and maintain highly collaborative working relationships across teams to understand analytics needs, available data, and growth opportunities for the business actively contribute to the definition and evolution of data analysis and collection.
  • Manage the Pricing Analyst responsible for the analysis, creation, and management of North American spare parts pricing, discount programs, and price strategy to maintain margin goals while supporting a competitive market stance
  • Manage the Sales Program Analyst responsible for the administration of the customer loyalty program
  • Manage the MRP Supervisor responsible for spare parts inventory analysis and control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a quantitative discipline such as math, statistics, finance, economics or similar discipline and seven years experience in a data analytics role. Minimum of five years of management experience required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel expertise, including PowerQuery and PowerPivot, as well as nested functions required. Three years of experience with QlikView reporting is required. Experience in SAP is highly desired. SQL, R, or Python skills desired, basic understanding of computer languages and programming required.
  • Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Supervisory Responsibilities 

Directly supervises 3-6 associates on the analytics team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Developing a team through coaching, counseling, and mentoring. Ensures effective communication within department and that the team follows-up appropriately. Inspires confidence and energizes and motivates associates across functional teams.
